Terms and Conditions

Please read all Terms and Conditions set out below carefully before placing your order with Butter. By paying a deposit you agree to all Terms and Conditions contained within this document.

Design and Sizing

Butter will design a cake based on the brief and direction provided by the client. Butter will accept inspiration images however will not recreate a cake in any image provided by the client. Butter reserves the right to make changes to the design during the creation process if we feel this is needed to achieve a cohesive or balanced design.
All clients are provided with a cake sizing chart before confirming their order. The sizing chart is based on specific serving size measurements, with a small amount of buffer built in to allow for inaccurate cutting. Butter is not responsible if the venue/caterer/client cuts the cake to a different serving size resulting in the stated number of servings not being achieved.

Additional Decoration

No decorations or other items may be added to the cake by any person other than those employed by Butter.
If you wish for your event florist to provide flowers for your cake they must be set aside at the venue for Butter to arrange on the cake. No florist is permitted to add flowers onto a cake provided by Butter.

The only exception to this clause is for cake toppers that are to be supplied by the client.

Deposit and Payment

A 50% non refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. Dates will not be held until a deposit has been received.
Final payment is due 2 weeks before your event date. If final payment is not received on time Butter reserves the right to cancel your order with no refund of deposit paid.

All payments must be paid by direct deposit to the account listed on your invoice.

Delivery and Pick Ups

All cakes over 1 tier must be delivered by Butter. A delivery fee is charged based on distance.
Butter is not responsible for any damage to the cake once delivery has been made. The customer is responsible for confirming with the venue that a suitable location for the cake to be displayed will be made available. For outdoor venues the customer must confirm with the venue that a suitable location outside of direct sunlight will be available. For outdoor weddings in summer the customer must advise the venue that the cake may need to be stored inside or refigerated for a period before being displayed.
Pick up is available for single tier cakes. Butter will provide guidance on best practice for transport and storage however Butter bears no responsibility for any damage once the customer is in possession of the cake.

Design and Flavour Changes

Any design and/or flavour change requests after the initial deposit has been paid must be submitted in writing at least one month before your event date. Acceptance of any changes is at Butter's sole discretion and may require an adjustment to your invoice.

Cancelations and Date Changes

In the event you wish to cancel your order your deposit will be forfeited. Deposits cannot be transferred to a new date. If you wish to change the date of your order this will be considered a cancellation and a new order must be placed for the new date.

Refunds

If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason all issues must be raised with Butter within 48 hours. No refunds will be issued without 80% of the cake being returned to Butter for assessment. No refunds will be issued based on design choices made by Butter in their discretion.
